This year we celebrate 45 years of David’s Beautiful People, a top-ranked hair salon in North North Bethesda, MD. David and Evie Cohen opened the salon’s doors and their own hearts to their clientele in 1973.

We all know hairstyles have changed since 1973. Charlie’s Angels Jaclyn Smith, Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson. Our 45 years of haircuts, hair coloring, hair extensions, and other salon services stay current and chic with today’s styles.

We serve the North North Bethesda community and the Greater Washington D.C. Area with years of experience and a passion for our craft.

Here are some things we have learned from 45 years in business, but not all our secrets!

Make our clients feel comfortable.

How? Great customer service. Pampering clients has not changed much since we opened our doors in 1973. We give our clients a taste of paradise and hope they carry that happiness into other parts of their lives. Our original motto was “Welcome to our home.”

If our clients are comfortable, they can open up about their hair and styling desires and be themselves. Our stylists know what questions to ask and how to make everyone in the chair feel comfortable. This way, we can best align our services with a client’s expectations.

We aim to give our clients the best salon experience of their life. Any hair salon can provide complimentary wifi, snacks, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, water – we do too. But it’s the people who really create David’s warm and exciting atmosphere.

Invest in our employees.

Our stylists have more than 445 years of experience between them all. With stylists doing hair since the 70’s to those born into today’s modern styles, we continue to educate everyone on industry trends and techniques.

We spend $50,000 annually on employee training; that’s over $2.25 million since we started. This includes classes and traveling to hair shows, international style hubs, and competitions.

This means we attract some of the best talent in the industry.

Our stylists train with Wella Professionals, Glemby International, Elizabeth Arden, Intercoiffure, L’Oreal, Goldwell, Antena, Trevor Sorbie, Toni and Guy, and Sassoon to name a few. Many have certifications of expertise from these organizations. Some stylists are regularly published in International trade publications.

Brides who work with David’s Beautiful People perfect their look from the first-time complimentary consultation to the trial-run about one month before the wedding so everything goes smoothly on The Big Day. And, we offer a “Traveling Salon Service” for the bride’s convenience at the home or place of meeting.

We have an easy online booking platform, for first timers and long timers. Our record-keeping information system keeps all our clients’ visits and stylings on file. That way, if a client wanted the same color, perm, highlights, or cut each time, they can have that no matter which stylist they have.

We outfitted our color room with a specialized ventilation system with standing air filter exchanges to protect the health of clients and stylists.
